Sometimes an image captures a feeling so much better than anything I could write. Today is one of those times. All the best this week, friends!
The Birth of Eve
The birth of Eve: cosmic and grounded at the same time.
Light stretching gently into the beautiful dark.
Less jarring, more complex.
Roots, woven in strength and purpose outside of simple dominion.
A recognition of belonging within nature, a part, not apart.
Itβs something we women have held in our hearts,
since the beginning.
Dedicated to my Aunt Barb, a force of nature, a generous and tenacious spirit.
the Myth of Diana
Despite reactionary rage, fully-coated anger,
a full inflicted fit of self importance, willingness to reck and ruin,
destruction for the promise of successful conquest,
Softness plays the long game.
Long after the most bitter of battles,
sometimes Softness wins.
Hopes on humanity, nature, and our place in this world we continue to influence.
Unexpected
Morning came on. A symphony.
Nothing, then notions, the faintest hint of sound,
and before we realized it,
a song forte
played for all who were awake to hear and see.
Look Up
A quick perspective shift,
weight and weightless in meer seconds.
The lightest ease of that transition is lovely, no?
Forward
We did, in fact, spring forward over the weekend, so a quartet of roads for your Monday.
Decisions
The sharpness that comes with a soft sunrise.
Another day of decision, perspective, consequence.
Some Sort of Blue
Returning to some sense of blogging after a very long hiatus.

Q#6 Justice for George
The reason why we are marching all over the world is we were like George, we couldnβt breathe, not because there was something wrong with our lungs, but that you wouldnβt take your knee off our neck.

Q#5 Where We Found Ourselves
Stir Crazy.
The feeling after getting home from a 2 hour grocery haul to keep us from getting out during a pandemic.

Family Portraits at Larrabee State Park
This, friends, is an enthusiastic gang of folks. The Wolvertons are world travelers, beekeepers, athletes, teachers, and cultural enthusiasts. They came with a plan, (I love me a good plan) smiles, and ideas. I could have spent so much time just talking with these people. (See above list of occupations and interests) :-)
We got down to business though, shot quite a few photos, and had a fun time working with the last of summer light.
Thank you Wolvertons, for letting me be your first ever family photographer. Truly, you guys were wonderful company, if only for an hour or so.

Senior Session at Lake Padden
Grace
Class of 2020
Echoing the beauty and stillness around her, in a place she grew up in.
Graceβs session was a peaceful walk around a lake sheβs grown up going to. The colors during this day were spectacular. Diffused, gorgeous pacific northwest light showed up for us in the best way.
Iβve learned recently that the schools around here let students turn in their own photos for yearbook publication. This is just awesome. The individuality allowed, and the lack of needing a uniform look makes senior sessions all the more fun for me, and hopefully you all as well. Iβve also learned we have about a month before photos need to be turned in. Thereβs still time to get something planned, shot, edited, and right back to you! Letβs talk :-)
